The process of securing a birth doula was a stressful one, as we really wanted to find someone that fit with our personalities, preferences, and energy. Within the first few seconds of watching Puja's intro video I was confident we had found our person! From the very first touchpoint, her communication was incredibly punctual and thorough -- always ready with a thoughtful response to every text, email, and phone call. She was incredibly helpful with resources, information, and comfort in the weeks leading up to the due date. I really felt like she had my best interests at heart based on what my husband and I shared we were hoping for with the birth of our first baby. Puja stayed in close contact with us once labor started, checking in constantly (even overnight!) right up until the moment we called her to come to the hospital. Her positive and authentic energy was palpable the second she stepped into the hospital room. She was helpful (and VERY supportive) when we pivoted from our original birth preferences, and continued to help advocate for our journey, keeping everything low stress, and dare I say fun? What I thought (and Puja was ready to provide) would be a very calm, introspective, low lit, fake candles, aromatherapy style birth turned out to be a little louder, more chaotic, rambunctious, and energetic ambiance full of chatter and laughter, and as it turns out, that was perfect. Puja made us all feel a little more at ease, she got along beautifully with the hospital care team, and was hands on all the way through the process from arrival until the baby was placed on my chest. We would not have wanted to do any part of this experience without her and she'll always be a pivotal piece of this story for us!
