“The beauty of pregnancy lies not just in the growth of a baby, but in the growth of a mother’s soul”
I started Puja’s Wellness Den to create a safe and empowering space for all birth givers. With over a decade of experience in the healthcare and insurance space, I have seen firsthand how the healthcare system can fail patients, especially women and people of color.
From a lack of access to timely care to a fear of asking questions about their care, patients need a stronger relationship with their provider, knowing their health goals, and understanding their options. I believe in a balance of science, western medicine, and more holistic practices, and I believe in respecting your choices and goals as a birthgiver.
As a birth doula and yoga instructor, my goal is to help you and your loved ones connect deeply and meaningfully to this experience. I am excited for your new chapter and honored to be part of it.
A little about me
I’m originally from Boston and focused on Economics, Gender Studies, and Anthropology courses in college. I was fascinated by the consistent thesis across cultures, time periods, and places that when communities invest in support systems for their caregivers and people, everyone thrives. I moved to Denver to work in healthcare and loved supporting patients, providers, and caregivers. After getting my MBA in Ann Arbor, MI, I moved back to Denver but felt disconnected in my strategy and management consulting roles. When I discovered the role of a doula, something clicked in my head and my heart. I completed my training and practiced for a few years before taking the plunge to get certified.
As a woman of color and child of immigrants, I have experienced the bias and intrinsic issues plaguing the healthcare system today. My work in corporate healthcare showed me how the system can simultaneously handcuff providers from providing the dedicated care they want to give all patients. I hope to bridge the gap between patients and providers by empowering you to advocate for yourself and build a trusted relationship with your medical team.
